Tory Mayor: isn’t listening to Croydon; isn’t fixing the finances

Once again, Croydon’s Conservative Mayor has ignored the clear views of local residents – this time by pushing ahead with his controversial and unpopular plans to CLOSE FOUR LIBRARIES.

This is despite his own public consultation showing a staggering 97% thought the closure of these libraries would be negative.

Croydon Labour’s spokesperson has accused the Mayor of “arrogantly ignoring the clear view of the Croydon public. Once again, the Conservatives are not listening to Croydon.”

At the same meeting councillors were STUNNED to find out that the Conservative Mayor has allowed his budget to overspend by a STAGGERING £42m!

Far from fixing the finances, the Conservatives in Croydon have lost their grip on them and residents now face further cuts to services and increases in fees, charges and council tax.
